      I was educated at the University of Nevada, Reno, where I received my BFA, and proceeded to Pasadena, CA to attend Art Center College of Design. After working for a greeting card company for a year, I switched to freelance, moved to Boston, and met my husband. Since Boston, we have lived all over the country. I have pursued my illustration career, switching from commercial art to children's book publishing, and now to fine arts, including portraiture. I still dabble in the children's books, doing one or so books a year, but I really enjoy painting portraits, and painting for myself.   Mural at Napa City-County Library

I think art is a way to elevate us closer to God. It makes us think, both as viewer and producer. And in the same way, the craft of paint hitting canvas, graphite gliding on paper, is a new learning experience each time I do it. Whether I am painting portraits, or autumn leaves, I am reading a new book each time.
